So grab your apron and let’s get started!
Ingredients for Choc Chip Cookies
Instructions
In a big / large bowl, with the help of electric mixer beat the butter and sugars together until they are fluffy and pale, it should take about 3 minutes. This will help make your cookies soft and chewy.
Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each one. Then add the vanilla extract and mix well. This will add moisture and flavor to your cookie dough.
In an another medium bowl, whisk together all the dry ingredients, the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Then slowly add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, stirring with a wooden spoon or a rubber spatula until a smooth dough forms. Don’t stir too much or your cookies will be tough and hard.
Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts if you are using them. This will make your cookies extra yummy and crunchy.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and put it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight. This will make the dough easier to handle and more flavorful.
When ready. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats. This will prevent your cookies from sticking to the pan.
Use a cookie scoop or a tablespoon to drop balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches (5 cm) of space between them. Press them down slightly with your fingers or the back of a spoon. This will help them spread evenly in the oven.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set but still soft. Don’t overbake them or they will be dry and hard.
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely. This will make them easier to eat and store.
Enjoy your perfect chocolate chip cookies with a glass of milk or store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. You can also freeze them for up to 3 months and bake them whenever you want fresh cookies.

How to Customize the Chocolate Chip Cookies.
- You can use different types of chocolate chips, such as milk chips, dark chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, or peanut butter, to change the flavor of your cookies. You can also use chocolate chunks or chopped chocolate bars for a more rustic look and texture.
- You can add other ingredients to your cookie dough, such as oats, coconut, dried fruits, or candies, to create different variations of chocolate chip cookies. Just make sure to adjust the amount of flour accordingly to keep the dough from being too dry or too sticky.
- You can freeze the cookie dough for up to 3 months and bake it whenever you crave fresh cookies. Just scoop the dough into balls and place them on a baking sheet. Freeze until firm, then transfer them to a freezer bag or container. When ready to bake, place them on a lined baking sheet and bake as directed, adding a few minutes to the baking time.
